The Benefits of Using Social Media for Business

How many people do you think you can connect with who would be open to seeing a short entertaining message from you pass conveniently across their computer screen?

There are so many benefits of using social media for business and marketing applications, all of which have great potential to increase your online business. The first benefit that might catch your eye is that it’s free in the sense that it's free to set up accounts, but if you're going to hire someone to manage these accounts, of course there will be some cost. Not to mention that it will take time to keep track of these pages and monitor interactions with your community.

Facing Obstacles With Your Internet Business

What do you do when things go wrong with your business?

I understand that everything in life doesn't go as planned sometimes - especially with my business. Challenges do come up, and when you're dealing with unpredictable technology, you just can't expect things to go smoothly all the time.

Putting together this webinar series about helping people start an online business has been quite the challenge for me. The first week my microphone on my headset didn't work. The next week I had food poisoning. Then last week my computer just froze on me 30 minutes before the live webinar.

Creating a Conscious Business

Love work, clients, and business
Why are you starting an internet business?  Are you doing it from a place of love?

In part 1 of the Starting an Internet Business webinar series, I touched upon the idea of determining your "Why". I have to admit that when I started my business, part of my motivation was the money. Although my big "Why" was having the freedom to do work that I love and work when I want to, I also saw the opportunity to have no limits to how much money I could make, whereas in a 9-5 job you receive a salary and virtually no other opportunity to make more than that salary. With your own business the possibilities are endless.

Write Your Business Plan in 30 Minutes: Sample Business Plan For a Small Internet Business

Developing a business plan for your internet business doesn’t have to be as long or drawn out as writing one for a regular brick-and-mortar business, especially if you’re launching a small site or blog and you’re not trying to recruit any investors. In fact, your plan can be just 1-2 pages long. When I launched my first internet business, the plan I had was mostly in mind, but I don’t recommend going that route.

It’s always good to have a business plan written down. Keep in mind that this is an informal sample business plan that is just for your reference.

Below is the plan I created for this website that you can use as a template for your own plan...

Start an Internet Business on a Shoestring Budget: Free Webinar Series

Doing Work on the Train
Working while traveling on the train
I am finally going to reveal to you exactly how I started my internet empire...and how I did it while traveling the world and enjoying life!

As an internet entrepreneur for the past 11 years, I’ve started several internet businesses and learned so much about what it takes to succeed. I’ve also talked to many people who have wanted to start an online business, but don’t know where to start. People have many beliefs about starting an internet business that are simply not true. For one, many people think they need money to start. Yes, there are some businesses that would require money to start, but there are a few business models that don’t require any money at all. So this year I’ve made it my mission to help people start their own internet business.
